James Harriman is a programmer in the Buckler Lab, working on the issues of SNP discovery and diversity informatics. His chief interests are genomic selection (colloquially known as  "Smart Breeding") and technology transfer from developed to developing countries.

James studied evolutionary biology at College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine. Previously, he worked for Jianzhu Chen at the MIT Center for Cancer Research and did graduate work at The Jackson Laboratory.
