Maize Germplasm Phenotypes Over sixty different phenotypic traits have been scored for our core set of germplasm. For several years in both the North Carolina and Florida field seasons, Major Goodman's group of researchers has scored many of the basic agronomic traits. Recently, we have started more detailed studies of our core set, which includes 102 lines. We also have several collaborators growing these lines in diverse environments, such as Torbert Rocheford in Illinois, Lauren MacIntyre at Purdue, and Georgia Davis at Missouri. A number of folks are also collaborating on the scoring of biochemical and physiological phenotypes, such as Wally Yokohama, Steve Szalma, Tom Brutnell, Torbert Rocheford, Georgia Davis, Paul Scott, and Rudolf Jung. The following is a list of the phenotypes we have currently scored: 20 Kernel Weight Armyworm - Leaf Damage Armyworm - Tassel Damage Cob Color Cob Diameter Cob Mass Days to Silk Days To Tassel Ear Diameter Ear Height Ear Height - Border Plant Ear Length Ear Mass Ear Number Ear Rank Number Ear Row Number Germination Count Ht4 Northern Leaf Blight Resistence Kernel Color Kernel Fill Percentage Kernel Row Arrangement Kernel Type Leaf Chlorophyll Leaf Length Leaf Sheath Length Leaf Width Leaf Width - Border Plant Main Spike Length Middle Leaf Angle Northern Leaf Blight Northern Leaf Blight (Percentage) Northern Leaf Blight - Incubation Period Number of Brace Root Nodes Number of Nodes Ear to Roots Number of Nodes Tassel to Ear Number of Tillering Plants Phylotaxy Plant Height Plant Height - Border Plant Pollination Date Row Quality Rust Secondary Branch Number Seed Set Length Silking Date Smut Incidence Smut Severity Spikelets - Main Spike Spikelets - Primary Branch Stalk Thickness Stalk Thickness - Low Stalk Width Stalk Width - Low Stand Count Tassel Branch Length Tassel Length Tassel Primary Branches Tassel Sterility Tasseling Date Tillering Index Tillering Index - Border Plant Total Kernel Volume Upper Leaf Angle Upper Leaf Angle - Border Plant
